Another Of Trump’s Quixotic Imperial Designs

Trump’s proposed “Board of Peace” built around heads of state, including Russia, is structurally ill-suited to end the Israel–Hamas war and to govern postwar Gaza in any sustainable way At a press conference at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Trump unveiled his newly formed Board of Peace to end the Israel-Hamas war. During a…

Are There 10 Courageous Republicans Who Can Save America?

I beg every Republican official to take a moment and ask themselves: Am I truly living up to my oath of office to defend and protect the Constitution? Am I upholding America’s democracy and freedoms for which millions have perished to protect? Am I fighting for what’s right, opposing what’s wrong, and embracing what’s morally…

The Turkish Kurds: Erdoğan’s Folly On Full Display

Since the 2016 coup attempt, Erdoğan has built a regime in which power is centralized, freedoms are curtailed, and dissent is met with an iron fist. Now that there is a historic opportunity to end the conflict with the Kurds, Erdogan is seeking surrender rather than a dignified, sustainable solution Nearly a decade after Turkey’s…

Only The Rising Of The People Can Stop Trump

When a government violates democratic principles, large-scale peaceful demonstrations can send a strong message. It’s a way for people to collectively demonstrate their commitment to democratic values and advocate for change without resorting to violence. The massive protests that followed the killing of Renee Good by ICE in Minneapolis were not spontaneous; it was an…

I stopped counting how many ethical red lines Trump has crossed since he reassumed office last January. For him, the presidency is the means by which he can enrich himself and wield power with impunity. Tragically, he cares less about the horrific long- and short-term implications of his misdeeds both domestically and internationally.

If Trump attacks Iran because of its crackdown on peaceful demonstrators, or whether he is using Iran’s horrific assault as an excuse to attack it, such an attack, should it occur, will be horrifically misguided. There should be no doubt in anyone’s mind that Iran will retaliate and target American military installations in the region, as well as Israel, if not another Gulf state, which could potentially engulf the Middle East in a war that must be avoided. Instead, the Trump administration should establish contacts with the Iranian military as well as the Revolutionary Guards and persuade them that they should depose the government, restore order, give the Iranian youth the prospect of a better future, and avoid a devastating war that they cannot win. A regime change in Iran must come from within. Otherwise, any foreign interference aimed at bringing about regime change will have disastrous regional consequences.

There is no other way to describe Don Lemon's arrest other than an outrageously gross violation of the First Amendment. The Committee to Protect Journalists condemned Lemon's arrest. "The arrest of journalist Don Lemon in connection with his reporting on a protest in Minnesota should alarm all Americans," stated Katherine Jacobsen, who works on the organization. Instead of seeking accountability in the killings of two American citizens in Minneapolis, Trump is devoting money and manpower to incarcerating journalists, no less, further escalating the tension and growing concerns shared by most Americans. CNN said in a post on X that Lemon’s arrest “raises profoundly concerning questions about press freedom and the First Amendment.” The arrests also follow the apprehension of three others— Nekima Levy Armstrong, Chauntyll Louisa Allen, and William Kelly, accused of the same charges. Another extraordinarily dangerous red line the Trump administration has crossed, and it must not stand.

The Onion, right?

Calling Lemon a journalist is a real stretch.

He was part of the protest. He was not an observer.

Sarcasm! This is Sarcasm right? Genius!

My estimation of Mr. Lemon is rising rapidly!

It looked more like he was part of the protest. At least from his own videos.

He was chanting along with the protestors?

A real journalist would have known he was breaking the law

He was an Instigator

Suddenly the “due process” crowd is against due process and the 5th amendment. No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury…

It absolutely was an assault on the first amendment... When he when into that church, refused to leave, and deprived them on there freedom to practice their religion

He literally invaded a church during service . He failed to respect their right to freedom of religion and free assembly. He violated their rights. What a joke of a post

I didn't know "journalism" included committing crimes.

I served this country I support lemon 🍋 👍👍 freedom of speech freedom of the press

Lemon broke the law

Learn our laws

Arresting Don Lemon for being a journalist will definitely have the charges dropped due to lack of evidence.

Adding the s to journalist means this article has more drama in it than a Hallmark movie

A grand jury indicted him, not Trump or the DOJ

If that is your definition of a journalist, there is therapy for you😂😂😂

He's a Podcaster and remember when biden doj arrested Owen shroyer, and Steve bannan. Guess what same thing. What happened to no one is above the law oh thats right that only applies to when it benefits the dems. Fucking clowns. And by the way I'm not on either side. But you play the game you win the prize

It's called the Face Act. He just turned himself into a criminal.

Journalist have the same rights as any American. They are not special and do not have a right to trespass or force themselves or their ideals on anyone. Like a professor of mine once said, "your right to swing your fist ends where my nose begins,"

The Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, signed into law in 1994, makes it a federal crime to use force, threats, or physical obstruction to intimidate, interfere with, or injure persons seeking to access or provide reproductive health services, or to damage reproductive health facilities. It also protects places of religious worship. Key Aspects of the FACE Act: Prohibited Actions: The Act forbids using force, threats of force, or physical obstruction to injure, intimidate, or interfere with anyone obtaining or providing reproductive health services, including abortion clinics and crisis pregnancy centers. It also prohibits damaging or destroying property at these facilities.Places of Worship: The law extends protections to anyone exercising their First Amendment rights of religious freedom at a place of worship.Penalties: Penalties for violations can be severe. A first offense involving nonviolent physical obstruction can result in up to 6 months in prison and a \(\$10,000\) fine, with higher fines and longer sentences for subsequent offenses. If bodily injury occurs, penalties can increase up to 10 years in prison, or for life if death occurs.Intent and Scope: The law was passed in response to increasing violence against abortion providers in the late 1980s and early 1990s. It does not prohibit peaceful, non-obstructive protest or speech protected by the First Amendment.

A Pakistani court has sentenced human rights lawyers Zainab Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha to 17 years in prison each, not for violence, but for social media posts deemed “hostile to the state.” The ruling criminalizes dissent and equates criticism with terrorism, a tactic increasingly used to silence civil society. Amnesty International called the case “the latest escalation in a sustained campaign of judicial harassment and intimidation by the Pakistani authorities. This verdict reaches far beyond Pakistan’s borders. Thousands of people who escaped or were released from scamming compounds in Cambodia are now stranded, traumatized, and without protection, according to Amnesty International. Survivors, many of whom are foreign nationals, report rape, torture, mutilation, and witnessing deaths, only to be abandoned without passports, medical care, or a path home. Amnesty warns: “This mass exodus from scamming compounds has created a humanitarian crisis on the streets that is being ignored by the Cambodian government.” This is not just Cambodia’s crisis; it is an international failure. Governments whose citizens are trapped must act immediately. Abandoning trafficking survivors to chaos and fear is a grave moral and legal betrayal.
