Another Of Trump’s Quixotic Imperial Designs

Trump’s proposed “Board of Peace” built around heads of state, including Russia, is structurally ill-suited to end the Israel–Hamas war and to govern postwar Gaza in any sustainable way At a press conference at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Trump unveiled his newly formed Board of Peace to end the Israel-Hamas war. During a…

Are There 10 Courageous Republicans Who Can Save America?

I beg every Republican official to take a moment and ask themselves: Am I truly living up to my oath of office to defend and protect the Constitution? Am I upholding America’s democracy and freedoms for which millions have perished to protect? Am I fighting for what’s right, opposing what’s wrong, and embracing what’s morally…

The Turkish Kurds: Erdoğan’s Folly On Full Display

Since the 2016 coup attempt, Erdoğan has built a regime in which power is centralized, freedoms are curtailed, and dissent is met with an iron fist. Now that there is a historic opportunity to end the conflict with the Kurds, Erdogan is seeking surrender rather than a dignified, sustainable solution Nearly a decade after Turkey’s…

Only The Rising Of The People Can Stop Trump

When a government violates democratic principles, large-scale peaceful demonstrations can send a strong message. It’s a way for people to collectively demonstrate their commitment to democratic values and advocate for change without resorting to violence. The massive protests that followed the killing of Renee Good by ICE in Minneapolis were not spontaneous; it was an…

A lot of murdering in Gaza of amazing young men, women and children. Any thoughts? NO END IN SIGHT: Despite Trump and Israeli speeches claiming peace has been made, Israelis continue killing Palestinian civilians in Gaza and West Bank. And Jews worldwide gathered about their Hanukkiahs just this past month, celebrating light, eating latkes, spinning their dreidels in warm homes while Palestinians go hungry, suffering night after interminable night in darkness, trembling from cold and sickness, in makeshift tents flooding with rainwater upon which fecal matter from overflowing latrines floats. "There is no clearer, more present threat posed peaceful co-existence of nations and diverse peoples worldwide, than the Zionist United States-Israel alliance: Principal author of global terrorism masquerading as defender of democracies." RS In honor of my grandfather and cousins who perished during the mid-twentieth century holocaust brought down by Nazi Germany on European Jewry, and my father, a survivor of it. I write: (1) Zionism and Israel (which through AIPAC have for over six decades had 80 % of United States lawmakers in their pocket) now pose an existential threat to this country and its people. Zionism and Israel--in frenzied Middle East acquisition mode and waging an ongoing genocidal campaign against a civilian Palestinian population--are pressing American lawmakers through 'Project Esther' of the Heritage Foundation, to criminalize all organized opposition to their atrocities. British lawmakers have already done so, and the United States is following. The new grassroots StopAntisemitism.org threatens essentially, to ruin the lives of those they deem 'antisemitic' College students have been arrested, deported, expelled, their degrees withheld for voicing objection to Israel's murderous rampage through the Middle East. Dean Cobb, of Columbia's journalism Dept., suggested students opposed to Israel stand down and post nothing on social media that might get them into trouble with the now Zionist administration of the once great American institution of learning. Zionists have undermined the sacred Constitution of this Republic, fought for against tyrants. There are no greater threats posed the lives and liberties of Americans than Zionism and Israel. Led by its beloved 'Bibi', supported by the United States and NATO, Israel's wildly disproportionate 'defense' of itself since Oct. 7th, 2023 has been a ghastly and relentless offensive of holocaust proportions. The last twenty-seven months of israeli aggression have been a horror of sadistic and indiscriminate killing and maiming of Palestinians, Lebanese and Syrians numbering in the tens of thousands, with no legitimate end to the genocidal campaign in sight. The list of war crimes gets longer with each passing day, and no state entities or UN resolution propose to stop it. Mainstream 'embedded' media have systematically avoided reporting on the scope of Israeli atrocities, characterizing the horrific deaths, catastrophic injuries and disfigurements of civilians and systematic torture and rape as unavoidable collateral to Israel's necessary defense strategy against terrorism. It is clear, the Zionist United States-Israeli Alliance has been from the start moving to make war against a patient Iran it has provoked with sanctions and bombings for over a decade, to clear a final obstacle to Zionist domination of the Middle East. And now that the Zionist United States-Israeli alliance has managed to destabilize Iran's goverment, and incite riots in Iran, the attack on Iran appears imminent. Israel's crimes against humanity bring shame on the Jewish people, and dishonor those 6,000,000 Jews murdered by fascists in the mid-twentieth century. Never, however, for the power in denial of their own now hackneyed defense cry, will Jews see their beloved Israel for the aberration it is. In its 77-year history, Israel has managed to redefine Jews and Judaism. No more the flock fleeing a genocidal pharaoh in early chapters of their magnificent history, and millennia later suffering a holocaust brought down upon them by Europe's fascists who blamed the ills of their nations on them, shipping them off to concentration camps, and murdering 6,000,000 of them. No! No more the victims, though the tribe strangely clings to a victim identity, having morphed into a grotesque band of genocidal killers, always claiming the atrocities they commit are in self defense. No! No more the victims, but the victimizers. No more are they the inmates of concentration camps, but the builders and guards of concentration camps, starving and torturing their inmates to death. No more the victims of racism making lives in a cruel world. No more the oppressed. Jews have learned how to be the racist, cruel oppressors, how to seize and hold power over the oppressed. Such incredible irony. Israel, a home for Jews fished from rivers of Palestinian blood, and fashioned after that from which they over millennia fled: the pharaohs and fascists. Richard Sonnenschein

I want to send a thank you for those who tuned in live for my first lecture in my new series, "Let's Call It As It Is: Live with Alon Ben-Meir." For those who were unable to join live, the full lecture recording, with Questions and Answers, is available now.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2y8EL_lgv8

This week’s lecture focused on how successive US administrations have failed to advance an Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement based on a two-state solution, which the US has championed for decades. Sadly, the Israel-Hamas war that has devastated Gaza could have ended much sooner. Biden and Trump could have spared much of the horrific death and destruction in Gaza had they not been unduly influenced by Israel and its surrogates' political support in the US.

The next lecture will be next Thursday, February 5, at 11:30am. Following the lecture, which will last approximately 25 minutes, there will be a question-and-answer session where attendees can ask questions about the topic of the lecture or any other related question of interest. Those unable to attend the livestream can submit questions in advance to info@alonben-meir.com; the full lecture and Q&A will be available on YouTube afterward.

If Trump attacks Iran because of its crackdown on peaceful demonstrators, or whether he is using Iran’s horrific assault as an excuse to attack it, such an attack, should it occur, will be horrifically misguided. There should be no doubt in anyone’s mind that Iran will retaliate and target American military installations in the region, as well as Israel, if not another Gulf state, which could potentially engulf the Middle East in a war that must be avoided. Instead, the Trump administration should establish contacts with the Iranian military as well as the Revolutionary Guards and persuade them that they should depose the government, restore order, give the Iranian youth the prospect of a better future, and avoid a devastating war that they cannot win. A regime change in Iran must come from within. Otherwise, any foreign interference aimed at bringing about regime change will have disastrous regional consequences.
