Trump, Iran, And The Folly Of Demanding Surrender

Trump’s threats and maximalist demands ignore Iran’s history, security fears, and distrust of Washington. A durable agreement requires time, restraint, and professional diplomacy—not bombast, coercion, and calls for unconditional surrender that guarantee only resistance Iran is not a transient power that can be coerced into submission; it is a civilization with over 2,500 years of…

Trump’s Apocalyptic Rhetoric Echoes Nuclear Annihilation

Trump’s warning that “a whole civilization will die tonight” was more than bluster—it was a reckless invocation of nuclear destruction that shattered diplomatic norms and reignited questions about his fitness to command American power It is hard to exaggerate the dire implications of Trump’s April 7 post on Truth Social, stating that “a whole civilization…

The Five Enablers Of The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

For decades, five powerful actors—the United States, the Arab states, the European Union, AIPAC, and Israel’s own opposition—have all claimed to seek Israeli-Palestinian peace while enabling permanent occupation, together burying the two state solution. Every powerful actor in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict professes to seek peace. The US and EU repeat the two state mantra, the…

Since early 2026, Darfur has been the scene of abhorrent atrocities that the world’s most powerful governments have deliberately chosen to tolerate. Survivors recount orchestrated campaigns of gang rape, used systematically to shatter communities and terrorize women and girls into permanent silence. Key UN Security Council members and international players hide behind hollow statements, while allowing arms transfers, normalization, and diplomatic protection to continue. This is not bureaucratic failure; it is a conscious decision by powerful states to look away from crimes that bear every hallmark of genocide.

In recent years, Russia has been accused of forcibly transferring hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian children into Russian territory. It deprives Ukraine of its future generations, undermines national cohesion, and potentially violates international law. The systematic abduction and indoctrination of Ukrainian children could weaken Ukraine’s cultural continuity, while the trauma inflicted on these children will reverberate for generations.

Syria may be turning west, but its oil still flows from Russia. According to Reuters, Russia has quietly become the main oil supplier to Syria, despite deep mistrust following Moscow’s support for Bashar al-Assad. Shipments have surged 75%, reaching around 60,000 barrels per day, now essential for a country still struggling to meet its own energy needs. The message is clear: political alignment can shift quickly, but economic dependence is far harder to break. The Republican Party’s electoral and leadership profile remains overwhelmingly white and male, even as the country grows more diverse. Roughly three quarters of Trump’s 2024 voters were white, while Black voters backed Harris by more than six to one, underscoring how little African American support the GOP attracts. Survey data show that a clear majority of white voters now lean Republican, while Black voters remain overwhelmingly Democratic and GOP candidates of color are rare, especially down-ballot. Scholars further find that racial resentment and fears about declining white political dominance significantly predict Republican affiliation. Against that backdrop, the party’s policy agenda on voting rights, policing, immigration, and education increasingly aligns with white nationalist narratives, making leadership denials of a white supremacist drift ring ever more hollower. ... It's crazy that my people see Treason and care not! 💩 Sun Sentinel: Wasserman Schultz helps form 💩 new Congressional Russian Ashke-Nazi Yiddish Jewish Caucus 💩 as ‘antisemitism reaching record levels’ Washington, February 8, 2025 “Education, understanding and strengthening relationships with other communities is critical to advancing Jewish community priorities,” Wasserman Schultz said in a statement. “With antisemitism reaching record levels in the United States, it is more important than ever before that Jewish members of Congress have a formal caucus to represent the unique perspective of the Jewish American community.” Jewish members of Congress have formed a Jewish Caucus, as lawmakers seek ways to strengthen relationships, advocate for policy and combat threats such as the rise in antisemitism. U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the first Jewish woman from Florida elected to Congress, was one of the founders of the group, which also includes her South Florida colleagues, U.S. Reps. Lois Frankel and Jared Moskowitz. “Education, understanding and strengthening relationships with other communities is critical to advancing Jewish community priorities,” Wasserman Schultz said in a statement. “With antisemitism reaching record levels in the United States, it is more important than ever before that Jewish members of Congress have a formal caucus to represent the unique perspective of the Jewish American community.” Antisemitism Separately, Moskowitz is again cosponsoring the Antisemitism Awareness Act that would put a definition of antisemitism into law and require the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights to use it when investigating allegations of discrimination in programs that receive federal financial assistance. Formation of the caucus came Thursday and introduction of the legislation came Wednesday — before Friday’s prominent new display of antisemitism from the rapper Ye, formerly Kanye West. Among the string of comments posted on his X social media account, which has 32.5 million followers, were declarations that “I’m a Nazi” and “I love Hitler.” Along with expletives, he posted an assertion that “Jewish people made up” antisemitism to protect themselves. The American Jewish Committee, whose CEO is former Broward-Palm Beach county congressman Ted Deutch, condemned the social media posts: “At a time when antisemitism is skyrocketing to terrifying levels worldwide, Ye is actively endangering Jews.” Most Americans understand what antisemitism is, but three in 10 adults are either unsure of what antisemitism means or have never heard the term. That’s among the findings of the AJC’s forthcoming State of Antisemitism in America 2024, according to a statement from Deutch. The proposed Antisemitism Awareness Act, which passed the House last year but stalled in the Senate, includes the working definition from the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, which specifies “a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews.” Caucus The caucus’s mission statement said it aims “to bring the unique perspectives and lived experiences of the Jewish members of Congress to the important issues of the day,” adding it would serve as a forum for its members “to share experiences, exchange ideas and advocate for the issues important to the American Jewish community.” There has long been a more informal gathering of Jewish members of Congress, most recently led by U.S. Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y. The news site Jewish Insider reported that Wasserman Schultz was a “driving force behind the group” and Nadler was “initially a skeptic of forming a caucus,” concerned “about highlighting divisions among Jewish members, especially on Israel policy, as well as about launching a faith-based caucus.” “In response to unprecedented rising antisemitism in the United States and the challenges the American Jewish community has faced in the wake of the horrific terrorist attacks of October 7th, the need for (the formal) caucus is understandable,” Nadler said in a statement. Wasserman Schultz nominated Nadler and U.S. Rep. Brad Schneider, D-Ill., to serve as co-chairs of the new, formal organization. Jewish Insider said the leadership represents both the progressive wing of the Democratic Party, through Nadler, and more moderate Democrats, via Schneider. Congress has a multitude of caucuses focused on issue areas, ideologies, and different communities. They include the Latino-Jewish Caucus, whose four co-chairs include Wasserman Schultz and U.S. Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, a Miami-Dade County Republican, and the Caucus on Black-Jewish Relations, also co-chaired by Wasserman Schultz. The Jewish Virtual Library reports that the current Congress, which took office in January includes 21 Jewish Democrats and three Jewish Republicans in the House and nine Jewish Democrats in the Senate and one independent Jewish senator who caucuses with the Democrats. 💩 Florida State Sen. Randy Fine 💩 is almost certain to win an April 1 special congressional election to fill a vacancy in northeast Florida’s Sixth District, becoming the fourth 💩 Russian Ashke-Nazi Yiddish Jewish 💩 Republican in the House. So far, the caucus is all Democrats. The news site Jewish Insider said no Republicans attended the Thursday meeting in Washington, D.C., at which the lawmakers formally voted to form the caucus. The Forward news site reported, citing a source, that “Republicans were consulted but are not expected to join.” Axios reported U.S. Rep. Max Miller, R-Ohio, had said in the past he would join. But a spokesperson said Friday that Miller would not join “the Democratic Jewish Caucus.” Spokespersons for the two other Jewish Republicans didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment. In Tallahassee, the Florida Legislature has a Jewish Caucus with Democratic and Republican lawmakers. Not all its members are Jewish. www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/amendmentxiv

Meritocracy

The racial makeup of the U.S. DUH! White: 63.44% Black or African American: 12.36% Asian: 5.82% American Indian and Alaska Native: 0.88% Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander: 0.19% Two or more races (multiracial): 5.1% Hispanic or Latino (of any race): 20% (not mutually exclusive with racial categories)

There's that "race" thing again. When all else fails.....

So what?

Im Hispanic and Republican, what’s your point?

That's the way it's supposed to be lol

You said it brother!

I still can't believe these imaginary lines make people believe votes disappear. Representatives do but only because of populations not race.

I like how this fails to mention that Trump did better with Black and Hispanic voters than any other Republican presidential nominee in the past 40 years... but yes, let's just double down on the race baiting...

I’m literally Hispanic. Are you denying my existence?

And ?

Along with the governor of California. And Illinois. Lol

The Republican party is comprised of Americans just as the Democratic party is comprised of Americans. The Virginia's recent governors election featured 2 women one black one white. The Democrats didn't use the race card in that election they didn't urge Democratic voters to vote for the black woman they did everything they could to keep the black woman from being elected pretty strange the Democrats wouldn't do more for the black woman because the black woman is a Republican The helped the white woman win the election because the white woman is a Democrat. The Democrats didn't give a rat's ass about the black and white issue that is very important to them the only thing that mattered to them was winning the election. The people of Virginia are Americans the 2 women that wanted to represent them are Americans that's all that should matter.

Denmark is overwhelmingly white. Are they white supremists too?

Remind me again which side was just recently found to be funding and supporting white supremacy groups? 🤡😂🙄

While the percentage is low for black voters the numbers are actually on the rise signaling problems for Dems

👇🏿👇🏿👇🏿👇🏿

They already did gerrymander those states.

And your point being?

And? What's that say for the other Party

The UN’s top human rights official, Volker Türk, warns that rights in Iran are being stripped away in “harsh and brutal ways.” At least 21 executions and over 4,000 arrests in weeks reflect a sweeping crackdown on dissent. Reports of torture, coerced confessions, and denial of legal counsel raise serious concerns about due process. Even in wartime, fundamental rights must be upheld. A 61-day internet shutdown has further silenced voices, cutting people off from truth itself. The credibility of international human rights commitments depends on a clear, consistent response, grounded in accountability, due process, and the protection of fundamental freedoms. ... The Supreme Court’s latest ruling on Louisiana’s maps does far more than tweak election law; it effectively licenses politicians to entrench minority vote dilution behind the fig leaf of “partisan” line-drawing. By demanding proof of intentional discrimination and shielding partisan gerrymanders from judicial review, the conservative majority has gutted the protective core of the Voting Rights Act and normalized what earlier Courts treated as a grave constitutional wrong. Coming on the heels of a pattern of shadow docket interventions and emergency rulings that consistently favor Trump’s agenda, this decision deepens a growing perception that the Court is no longer an impartial guardian of democracy, but a reliable ally of a president and party intent on rigging the political map in their own favor. ... The U.S. Supreme Court has been skeptical of affirmative action and other race-based “remedial” action by government since the 1970s. So this isn’t something new that began with Trump appointees to the Court.

So, there are still six Republican-held (red) districts in New York, nine in California, three in Illinois, two in Washington State, one in Maryland, one in Virginia, and one in Oregon. The red states are now ramping up their gerrymandering in their favor. Seems to me that the only way to balance the scales now is for blue states to gerrymander out their last remaining red districts. In light of the SCOTUS decision, is there anything to stop blue states from doing that in response?

Great decision
