The Democrats’ Greatest Challenge Ever

The Democrats can potentially wrest control of Congress in the upcoming midterm election only if they listen very carefully to what the American people are yearning for. Tanzanian authorities are once again testing the limits of repression as citizens prepare for nationwide protests. Instead of protecting peaceful assembly and free expression, the state has responded with excessive force to instill fear and silence. After the October elections, security forces used violence against protesters, while a nationwide Internet shutdown blocked access to information and concealed serious abuses, including killings and enforced disappearances. “Police must refrain from violating protesters’ rights, especially the use of brutal force,” said Tigere Chagutah, Amnesty International’s Regional Director for East and Southern Africa. The right to protest is non-negotiable. Tanzania must safeguard demonstrators, restore full internet access, and carry out independent investigations. Silence fuels abuse. Demand accountability now.

Migrant children in France are often treated as adults because of flawed age checks, left homeless and forced to survive in degrading conditions. Appeals against these assessments take months or years. France must act now to reform its laws and guarantee protection for migrant children. Europe cannot tolerate policies that abandon children to hunger and homelessness.

Myanmar’s military has carried out a deadly air strike on a hospital in Rakhine State, killing at least 33 civilians, including a baby, and injuring dozens more, according to local reports. The attack on Mrauk-U General Hospital took place on International Human Rights Day, a chilling reminder of the military’s total disregard for civilian life and humanitarian law. Air strikes by the junta have reached a record high in 2025 as repression intensifies ahead of a planned election marked by widespread abuses. Bombing a hospital is a crime against humanity; the UN must persuade/ pressure Russia and China, who are the main suppliers of weapons to Myanmar, to cut their shipments of weapons to Myanmar and stop profiting from the indiscriminate deaths of sick people, no less, thousands of miles away. The International Criminal Court can also play a role in ending this continuing travesty and preventing further atrocities.

Perhaps the most horrifying consequence of the war in Sudan is the rape and killing of innocents, including children and toddlers. In general, UN Women saw a 288 percent increase in the number of gender-based violence survivors seeking services, highlighting the overwhelming use of rape as a weapon of war.

I am very elated to announce a new addition to enrich my regular repertoire: a paid subscription platform for extra content – additional podcast episodes, lectures, live Q&As, and weekly briefs on the latest, most pressing issues around the world.

With increasing violence, and alarming crackdowns on free speech and independent media and voices, it is more critical than ever to continue speaking out impartially and without bias, and supporting those who dare to speak truth to power.

Your support will enable me to continue tackling such important issues and expand my educational and informational outreach. It will also help me reach and engage audiences worldwide who may not have the opportunity to attend an in-person lecture or event, and share ideas that other media may not cover.

What’s Included?
For $5/month, subscribers will receive the following:
- “On the Issues: Beyond the Headlines,” a weekly live podcast series (my first guest: author and futurist Tsvi Bisk, discussing Israeli perspectives toward Gaza)
- “Let’s Call It As It Is: Live with Alon Ben-Meir,” weekly, live in-depth short lectures (20 to 25 minutes) on a significant, pressing global issue, followed by a question-and-answer session
- Weekly video every Friday discussing the most noteworthy or pressing issue of the week.

Followers on my social media will continue to receive everything you have received from me in the past – weekly articles, as well as my podcast “On the Issues,” which publishes every three weeks on Tuesdays. You will also be able to access all my regular social media posts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.

Unlike ever before, Iran’s Islamic regime is facing a revolt led by a generation that has lost its fear. Young and old people, students, and workers are flooding the streets across all provinces, driven by economic collapse, corruption, and decades of repression. Women and girls are at the forefront, protesting without headscarves, defying the clergy that once controlled every aspect of their lives. They don’t want reform; they are demanding freedom and the end of authoritarianism. Shutting down the internet, mass arrests, and the killing of dozens of protesters, including children, will not save the regime, whose longevity has come to an end. Using foreign threats, from the US or Israel, to distract the public’s attention from day-to-day bread-and-butter issues has failed miserably. Continued violent crackdown on the public will only accelerate the regime's demise. The Iranian military should topple the government, take charge, and pave the way for a legitimate, freely elected government, restore the Iranian people's dignity and their right to be free.

Looks like Leftists are in tears

From failed Zionist missiles to staged protests, the Ayatollah will prevail.

Hahaha. He is probably hiding under his bed by now. That is why he called the hammas and hisbolah from gaza, west bank, syria, and lebanon to come and help.

Yesterday, the U.S. Vice President declared that a federal agent who killed a 37-year-old civilian woman has “absolute immunity,” setting an ominous precedent: an American citizen can be killed in the street by a federal agent, with immunity. HOW OUTRAGEOUS. Defending a murder by ICE by a vice president, no less, is doubly absurd and must be condemned with vehemence and profound disdain. Former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura, a military veteran who has seen what this looks like, warned where these leads: “We’re a third-world country now. You want to know why? I spent 17 months in Southeast Asia while the draft dodger was playing golf… in third-world countries, they have the military doing police work in the cities while you walk around.” I could not have agreed more. Every American who cares about this country’s future must protest, scream hell, shout and resist the normalization of violence which happens only under authoritarianism. NO. We must use every peaceful tool to stop this madness, which is destroying our country from within.

Drive your vehicle at law enforcement...expect to get shot. It's really not that hard to understand

law and order > your feelings

Intresting how they point out Ventura is a veteran but not that Vance is also one.

Serious question......everything i have read states that ICE agents are not police officers. Why are they wearing Police patched on their clothing? In my brain that makes them arrestable for impersonating law enforcement.

she tried to run from the police and hit the man who shot her its a justified shot and we all know it she went to to impede ice and then tried to run and hit a officer is sad but she put her self in that situation

Way was she out There wend she had kides at home

The brutal Murder of Renee Nicole Good. Having watched this tragedy unfold across the USA over the last couple of days, I felt that penning this simple song about the events may be the best way for me to contribute to the Tsunami of condemnation of this shocking event and the ongoing erosion of basic human rights by the fascist Dictator in charge of the USA. I wrote the lyrics and utilised some software to help piece it all together quickly. For the sake of the world at large, I appeal to all Americans: RESIST. Remove these vile monsters from office before it is too late. www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyrYFBHNC1o

Vance can declare the sky is green, and it won't make it true. The ICE agent is going to prison for murder and Vance knows, Trump knows it, and ALL OF MAGA know it. That's why they are lying and making things up. That's why each one of them are in fact claiming American Citizens will die if they get in MAGAs way. MAGA are in FACT proving fully that they are the rise of the New Nazi Regime. They are NOT even hiding it anymore.

Our country has been taken over by a bunch of lunatics which will end up starting a war with the rest of the world. I hope whomever is guarding the nuclear arsenal is keeping a close watch on that button.

She was just a bad agitator. Can’t even admire her technique.

The democrat sure have their share of fucking mentals!

This is what an idiot that try’s to run over leos looks like..

United States is no longer a free country!

Uh...no dumbass...you are wrong

Try to run me down and I will shoot you to defend myself like the agent did.

A teenage girl from Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince, forced to flee her home because of gang violence, has a simple message: don’t give up on children. Thirteen-year-old Dieussika’s life was shattered overnight as armed groups closed in, and her sister nearly died after losing access to asthma care. Across Haiti, gangs control neighborhoods, forcing hundreds of thousands to flee and pushing children out of school. The United Nations and the European Union, regional governments, and international donors must act, expand humanitarian aid, support safe access to education, strengthen child protection, and pressure Haitian authorities and armed actors to protect civilians. Haiti’s children cannot wait. Inaction and delay cost lives.
