Global Leaders: Conversations with Alon Ben-Meir

April 19, 2018, 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Dr. Ben-Meir hosts leaders from around the world in conversations that probe critical global issues and the policies our guests are designing to address them.

Guest: H.E. Ambassador Mohamed Khaled Khiari, Ambassador of Tunisia to the United Nations

Tunisia has been the only country able to maintain a democracy in the aftermath of the Arab Spring. While the Arab Spring spread across the region, it failed to materialize anywhere else in the Arab world. The focus of our discussion will be why this wave of revolutionary awakening among young Arabs failed to be realized elsewhere, will it be revived, and in what form, given the changing socio-political dynamics in the Arab world, and the continuing quest of Arab youth for a better and brighter future.
